Introducing my robotic quadruped, BOLT! I designed and built this project as both a personal learning experience and a resource for future aspiring engineers. BOLT is powered by LiPo battery and uses 12 servo motors to replicate the movements of a real dog. In addition to the robot itself, I created detailed build instructions and open-source CAD/STL files and code to help future students and classes replicate the project. You can find the full instructions and materials at the bottom of this page. This project integrates a wide range of skills, including CAD design, 3D printing, project assembly, soldering, PCB design, Python coding, and more.
The final product is shown on the left! Since this video was made, I've been refining its performance for smoother operation, with a focus on improving the walking function. Additionally, I'm working on enhancing the shoulder joints. The assembly instructions made for replication from future engineers are shown below as well.
